Tess joined the Sun City team, at the Winfield clinic, in December 2012.
Coming from a small town in rural Ottawa Valley, it was the landscape of trees, lakes and mountains that brought Tess to British Columbia. The Okanagan supports her active lifestyle, which includes running, hiking, climbing, and anything else that provides adventure.
Tess completed her B.Sc. in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. It was while volunteering at a pool working with children with disabilities that inspired her to pursue a career in rehabilitation science. After undergrad, she returned to her hometown where she worked in a long-term care facility as a certified kinesiologist, providing exercises for residents with the goals of fall prevention, maintenance of mobility and strength, and maximizing cardiorespiratory function. Tess later went on to complete a Masters of Physiotherapy at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario.
While Tess has had much work and volunteer experience with the pediatric population, she enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy. Her particular interests lie in orthopaedics, falls prevention, vertigo rehab, and general health promotion.
