Lindsay Wourms PT, MScPT
Lindsay grew up in Kamloops, BC where she competed for many years as an artistic gymnast. She had many experiences with physiotherapy growing up as a competitive athlete, and decided to pursue her passion for rehabilitation with a career in physiotherapy. She did her undergraduate degree at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops and then went on to complete her Masters in Physical Therapy from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. Since graduation, she has furthered her learning with Orthopedic Division courses specializing in the thoracic spine, SI joint, and TMJ.
Lindsay is a paediatric physiotherapist. She has worked with children in private practice and outpatient services alongside Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. She works with children ages 0-18 and treats common paediatric conditions including gross motor delay, torticollis, plagiocephaly, toe walking, scoliosis, growing pains (such as Osgood’s and Sever’s Disease), and sport-related injuries.
She also has a speciality in concussion management, performing baseline tests and post concussion assessment and treatment for teams and individuals. She has a special interest and experience in treating gymnasts, dancers, and baseball players.
She approaches the treatment and management of all conditions with a focus on understanding client goals, developing individualized plans, and providing
education, open communication, and hands on treatment. Lindsay also treats adults who need help with “prehab” or the prevention of injury as well as return to sport or activities using manual therapy and exercises.
When Lindsay isn’t at the clinic, she can be found trail running, at the yoga studio, or out searching for the most delicious food in town with her husband and son.
